The Philippine Festival 2019 – Celebrating Living in Victoria held on 24 March 2019 is the first free outdoor event in Queen Victoria Market (QVM) that was organised by a group of Filipino-Australians and supported by the Australian Filipino Heritage Foundation Inc and Sandok Production.
The venue recorded over 40,000 attendees turned up to experience Filipino food and entertainment on a sunny autumn afternoon.
The mood was festive although there were complaints of long queues on some food stalls.
“The Market was absolutely packed, I think it was an amazing festival,” a QVM staff member said.
“I went with a couple of my friends and they commented that the queue for food stalls was too long, maybe 1 or 2 more food stalls next year?” he added.
Gregorio Images captured the mood of the event in stills.
